Gabriella Pompa was born on January 10, 2019 at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, Florida. Gabriella was a healthy, beautiful baby who loved to dance and sing to Sesame Street songs, and read many books. She loved being with her mom and dad, and always made anyone smile with just a wave. She brought love and joy to our family every day. To know Gabriella was to know pure happiness; to love every moment of life.

Gabriella suddenly passed away at only 16 months on May 10, 2020 to an unknown cause. Her parents are still fighting to find answers, to know what happened to their precious girl. Since Gabriella’s passing, her parents want to bring awareness to SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood). Losing a child is the worst pain a parent can experience, and to not know why is unimaginable.

Gabriella is deeply loved, and loved to share her love with everyone around her. She had an old soul for such a young baby; a level of empathy and care for those around her that amazed us every day. If you ever knew Gabriella or even viewed her videos, you would see what a special child she was. We might not ever know what happened to our sweet Gabriella but we intend to make more parents aware of her situation.

Gabriella was our first daughter, our best friend, and now she’s our angel. We plan to continue educating people on SUDC, so that awareness can drive scientific and medical research so that someday, no parent suffers an unimaginable, and unexplained loss due to SUDC. We honor her legacy every day by showing love and compassion to others, the same way Gabriella brought light and joy to our lives every single day.
