Dance Fitness Instructor

​

The Lindsay School of the Arts (LSA) is offering a unique job opportunity for our dance students to host weekly dance fitness classes that combine fun, creativity, and fitness. This role allows students to share their passion for dance while leading engaging, energetic sessions designed to work out and engage major muscle groups through stretching, strengthening, and creative choreography.

 

Classes will include a warm-up, high-energy movements targeting core muscle groups, and a cooldown to promote flexibility and recovery.

The selected instructor will host a weekly 60-minute fitness class for the LSA community and contribute to promoting health and well-being through the art of dance. This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring dancers to build their leadership, choreography, and teaching skills while earning income.

Job Responsibilities

​​

  • Design and lead a 60-minute weekly dance fitness class, including a warm-up, main workout routine, and cooldown.

  • Create a routine that is fun, engaging, and effective at working out major muscle groups (core, legs, arms, etc.).

  • Incorporate stretching and strengthening exercises into routines to promote fitness and flexibility.

  • Adapt class styles to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities in a supportive and motivating manner.

  • Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism while instructing.

  • Provide a safe environment for all participants by emphasizing proper form and technique.

  • Serve as a positive role model and ambassador of LSA’s values.

Qualifications

​​

  • Currently enrolled as a dance student at LSA.

  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency in dance.

  • Passion for health, fitness, and helping others stay active.

  • Ability to design creative and effective workout routines that focus on stretching, strengthening, and engaging major muscle groups.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • A positive, energetic, and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to engage and motivate participants of all fitness levels.

Audition Details: All applicants will be required to audition a 30-minute class of their own design.

The audition must include:
 

  1. A warm-up segment.

  2. A high-energy workout routine targeting major muscle groups.

  3. A cooldown and stretching session.
     

Classes should be structured, creative, and engaging, showcasing the applicant’s unique style and approach to dance fitness.
